More about Anda

Anda dressed as an explorer

Anda loves learning and experimenting, and she brings that same curiosity to every stage and challenge that comes with being little. From first steps and first words to first days at school, sharing, trying new foods or working through big feelings, Anda has usually been there herself, and she loves showing other children that they are not the only ones figuring it out.

She's not afraid to get things wrong on her first try, because she believes that's just part of learning something new. Whether she is tying her shoelaces, tasting a new fruit or working up the courage to jump into the pool, Anda shows that a wobble or two along the way is simply part of growing.

Anda holding crayons

Anda never explores alone. She's always accompanied by her best friend, Marula, a cheerful little marula fruit plush who goes everywhere she goes, ready to be squeezed for comfort or waved around during a song. Together, they turn playtime into practice time, whether they're at the swings, in the garden or curled up with a book. She also has a wide circle of friends across Penguitropolis, each with their own favourite way to play.

Anda walking with Langa

At home, Anda is a proud big sister to Langa. She loves showing him what she has learned, even if he's still a bit too little to keep up, which just gives her even more reasons to explain things out loud and practise being patient. Her granny and grandfather are a big part of her life too, always ready with a story, a proverb or a bit of wisdom for Anda to carry forward.

The most important thing in Anda's world is helping other children feel confident. She knows that growing up can feel a little scary, whether it is a new word, a new place or a new experience, so she always leads the way first: trying it herself, talking through it slowly, then cheering children on as they try it for themselves.
