More about Nate

Nate solving a puzzle cube

Nate counts everything. Steps, toys, birds on a wire, it does not matter what it is, if it can be counted, Nate is counting it. He notices patterns quickly too, spotting when something repeats or when one thing is bigger, smaller or the same as another, and he loves pointing it out to whoever is nearby.

Games with numbers are Nate's favourite kind of game. He likes counting down before a race starts, keeping score during play, or working out how many more steps it will take to reach the swings. For a five year old, Nate has a surprising amount of patience for figuring things out, going over a tricky count again and again until it makes sense.

Nate riding his bicycle

Nate loves sharing what he knows just as much as he loves learning something new. He is quick to help a friend count their toys or work out how many snacks are left, always proud when the numbers add up.

When he is not counting, Nate loves riding his bicycle. He pedals up and down Penguitropolis as often as he can, and he cannot help but count along the way too, from the number of houses he passes to how many pedals it takes to reach the corner.
